In the Space Between

Here I am, in the space between your words,

in the silence after your tears begin to fall,

in the moment you realize you don't know where to go next.

I am here, breathing with you.

You wonder if I want to fix you,

if I'm searching for the right words to make it all better,

if I'm growing restless with your uncertainty.

But I am simply here, holding steady in the storm.

There is wisdom in your disorientation,

truth in your trembling voice,

strength in your willingness to stay

when everything in you wants to turn away.

I will not rush to fill the silence.

I will not try to steer you toward safer shores.

Instead, I anchor myself in this moment,

my heart open to whatever emerges.

Your pain deserves to be witnessed.

Your confusion deserves to be honored.

Your journey deserves to unfold

at its own pace, in its own way.

So I sit with you in the darkness,

until your eyes adjust to see

what was always there within you:

the first light of your own becoming.
