——  SIX MONTH GROUP FOR WOMEN IN PERIMENOPAUSE & MIDLIFE

You are standing at the beginning of the most honest chapter of your life

The Living Room is an intimate online group for women in (peri)menopause and midlife who are ready to trade the relentless project of self-improvement for something far more honest and far more nourishing. Compassion. Acceptance. Real community. Yourself, as you actually are.

— 13 bi-weekly sessions across 6 months — slow by design because depth and trust take time

— Held by Michaela Kozlik, licensed therapist and somatic practitioner — 20+ years working with women

—Body-based practices woven through every session

— Private online community — connection continues between sessions

— Maximum 8-10 women — small enough that every person has space to be known

——  IS THIS YOU?

You didn't see
this part coming.

——  Your body is changing & it feels unfamiliar, unpredictable, and sometimes scary.... and maybe you're going through that largely alone.

——  You have spent decades taking care of things. And somewhere in there, you stopped knowing how to take care of yourself.

——  â€‹You say "I'm fine" automatically, even when you're not. Especially when you're not.

——  You have done inner work. You understand yourself really well. And something is still not integrating.

—— You're tired of pretending that you're okay. You want somewhere to be actually well, or actually not well, without managing other people's feelings and reactions.

—— You want community with women who are in it too. Not a support group or a course, but something real and intimate.

The Living Room was built for women who are not new to inner work. You are self-aware, you understand your patterns.... And maybe you're frustrated or exhausted by the gap between understanding and actually living differently.

This is not a program that will teach you something you don't already know. It is a space where you can finally move this knowledge from your head into your body and life. You will stop trying to fix yourself and start living, with other women in the room.

——  YOUR LIFE FEELS LIKE

You have been holding it
together
for a very long time.

Because you are good at it, and because someone had to. Because falling apart, asking for more, or saying out loud that you are not okay felt like too much to ask of anyone.

And then perimenopause arrived. And your body started doing strange things, and your mind filled stopped working the way it used to. And the strategies that got you here stopped being effective.

And maybe you're still, somehow, pretending it's fine and that It's not that bad...

Maybe you're not fine...

——  Maybe you're lonelier than you let yourself feel. Lonely being surrounded by people who don't know what this phase of life actually feels like.

——  You're experiencing grief that feels like anger, sadness, and numbness at the same time.

——  You can name some of your "bad" habits and patterns. You can hold space for others in it. You just can't seem to be able to experience the change that you so desperately want.

——  You are tired of "working" on your healing. Tired of reading about and trying to fix your symptoms like they are another project to complete. You want somewhere to just be in it.

——  WHAT THIS IS

Not a workshop or a course.
A living space.

A small online group for women, eight to ten of us, meeting twice a month for six months over video.

What we do is simple: we practice being present. With ourselves, and with each other. No homework. No frameworks to memorize.

No pressure to show up in a certain way. The consistency of the group, the witnessing, the not-aloneness is what does "the work."

This is what I know after years of sitting with women in therapy: information doesn't heal us. Relationship does. Presence does. Being seen by people who are also learning to see themselves — that does.

——  THE PROBLEM WITH HEALING CULTURE

You have been told there is
a right way to do this.

"Journal. Meditate. Sleep eight hours. Reduce cortisol. Track your cycle. Take the supplements. Do the work. Show up. Stay consistent. Be patient, but not too patient. Move faster. You are almost there."

We've been told healing should be efficient. That if we're not seeing rapid results, we're not doing it right.

This group is a deliberate counter to that. The shifts that stick are gradual, relational, subtle, built in the moments where you stayed a little longer, let yourself be known, didn't rush.

Half Day

Track your symptoms so you can fix them faster.

What if your symptoms are your body's most honest communication, and they deserve to be listened to, not eliminated?

Multi Day

Find your community. Share your journey. Stay positive

What if community means being witnessed in the actual darkness? What if the women around you knew the unfiltered version?

Multi Day

This is a hormone imbalance. Get it managed

What if the version of you that's falling apart right now is actually the most honest one you've ever been?

Full Day

Do the work. Stay consistent. You will get there.

What if there is no "there"? What if the invitation is to stop rushing toward a version of yourself that is already behind you?

Multi Day

You are responsible for your own healing. Do the inner work

What if some things can only move when they are witnessed? What if you have been trying to heal alone, and that's part of the problem?

Multi Day

Read more. Learn more. Understand your body

What if you already understand enough and what you need is not more information but a room where you can finally feel it?

You are standing at the beginning of the most honest chapter of your life

Not your most productive one or most optimized one. The phase of your life when you stop pretending you have it  together and start actually getting to know yourself. Where you let other women in.

Healing doesn't happen in your head. It happens in the body, in relationship, in the moments where you are fully here, and someone else is fully here with you.

——  WHO THIS GROUP IS FOR

This is not for everyone.
It might be
for you.

You might be right for this if —

You're navigating midlife, perimenopause, or a season of identity shift — and you want to meet it with intention, not just endure it

You've done individual therapy and you're curious what the group space offers that one-on-one doesn't

You're exhausted by the performance of being fine and ready for something that asks less of your persona and more of your actual self

You can commit to six months of consistent attendance. Not perfect, but real

You want to be in community with women, not just adjacent to them

You're open to being known as a woman in this phase of your life

This probably isn't the right fit if —

You're in acute crisis and need more intensive, individualized clinical support

— You're looking for a content-based course with deliverables and curriculum

You want accountability coaching, goal-setting, or productivity-oriented support

— Group vulnerability feels genuinely unsafe to you right now, not just uncomfortable, but unsafe

Six months of consistent commitment is not available to you at this time

The group is the medicine.

There's something that happens between women who are genuinely trying to know themselves, some resonance that nothing else quite replicates. You see yourself in someone else's unfolding. Your shame becomes less heavy when being understood. You become, for someone else, the witness you always needed.

Six themes. Thirteen sessions.

Each month holds a theme. The arc is designed to move from arriving to completing with real depth at every stage.

MONTH 1 · 2 SESSIONS

Arriving

Before anything else, you land. Not at a destination — into the group, into yourself as you actually are right now.

MONTH 2 · 2 SESSIONS

Deepening

Saying the thing you have been editing out. The layer beneath the layer. The truth you haven't quite spoken out loud.

MONTH 2 · 2 SESSIONS

Belonging

Dropping the performance of being okay. Learning what it feels like to be witnessed without having to manage how that lands.

MONTH 2 · 2 SESSIONS

Integrating

Making it yours not borrowed from someone else or the group.

What has actually shifted? What is yours now?

MONTH 2 · 3 SESSIONS

Softening

Putting down what you didn't choose to pick up. The tension, the managing, and the constant readiness. What happens when you stop?

MONTH 2 · 2 SESSIONS

Completing

Real ending, held with the same care as everything that came before it. And for those who want to go farther: we gather in person in Costa Rica.

——  COMMUNITY

Two weeks is a long time to sit with something alone

"Perimenopause can be one of the loneliest experiences a woman moves through. This group is a direct refusal of that loneliness."

The off-social media community space is where the group continues between sessions. Here you can share what surfaced for you between sessions, ask the question you didn't get to, and connect with the other women.

Six months online.
Seven days in Costa Rica.

Warm water, dense jungle running to the sea. A place with a quality of unhurried stillness that is hard to find anywhere else.

Not a resort. Real place, held carefully, available only to Living Room graduates. Five nights. Eight women who already know your unpolished self.

Morning somatic sessions. Unstructured afternoons to swim, rest, walk. A closing ceremony on the coast.

The retreat is not a reward for completing the group. It is a completion — a different kind of container, held in a different kind of place, for the same honest work.

——  QUESTIONS

Before you make a decision...

Do I have to be in perimenopause to join?

No. The group is open to women roughly 40–60 who are in the territory of midlife transition, whether or not they are experiencing perimenopause or not.

Do I have to decide about the retreat when I enroll?

No. You can add the retreat later if spaces remain. Mention your interest when you apply and I'll follow up with details.

What is included in the retreat price?

Everything on the ground — accommodation, all meals, daily sessions, the closing ceremony. Flights & travel insurance are not included.

I've done so much therapy. Is there anything left to open?

Yes. The relational, somatic, and presence-based group context reaches something that individual work simply can't. Many women who join have done years of therapy and find this different from any other work they have done.

What if I don't feel safe showing up like myself, even in this group?

You will be gently invited toward something more real, but never forced to participate. Your presence and the pace itself is what matters most and creates the living space.

What is Skool and how does the community work?

Skool is a private community platform. Your cohort only. It stays open after the group ends as a real space held with the same intentionality as the sessions.

Is this therapy?

No. Facilitated by a licensed therapist, but not a group therapy. Something real: women in a room together, telling the truth, held by someone who knows how to hold it.

How does the application work?

About ten minutes. A brief personal review follows. If it seems like a fit, we'll have a short conversation before confirming your place. Maximum 10 women per cohort.

——  THE FACILITATOR

Michaela Kozlik

My name is Alexa Young

I'm Michaela. I'm a licensed therapist in Illinois, and I've been sitting with women in therapy for years — women navigating anxiety, trauma, burnout, and the deep identity shifts that happens in midlife when the old strategies stop working.

I specialize in perimenopause and midlife transitions because I believe this season is one of the most misunderstood, underloved passages a woman can move through.

The Living Room is my first group program, and it grew out of what I watch change, and not change, in the women I work with. Individual therapy is powerful. But something different happens in community. I wanted to create the container for that.

I created this space because I believe that the current culture of healing takes something essential away from us. Our humanity. Our messiness. Our right to not be a project. This is not a program I deliver. It is a living space — co-created by me and every woman who shows up in it.

I work through a lens of somatic practice, parts work, and interpersonal neurobiology. Which is a long way of saying: I work with the whole person: your body, nervous system, relationship history, and the wisdom that lives underneath all the strategies you have built to survive.

What I offer is my professional and personal experience of working deeply with women, a genuine commitment to going slowly, and the conviction that community is medicine in a way that individual work simply can't be. I will hold this space carefully. I will not rush it. And I will be changed by it too.

You don't have to be ready

You just have to be willing to find a way to show up for 90 minutes, twice a month,

for six months, with nine other women who are doing the same thing.

The rest happens from there.

Applications take about ten minutes · Spaces limited to 10 women per group Online: $2,000 full · $350/month · Online + retreat: $5,990
