Perimenopause support group

Perimenopause Mental Health Support

8-week online group for women navigating change, finding connection, and understanding themselves in new ways.

Maybe you have noticed that things feel different lately…

You have less patience for things you used to tolerate. You feel overwhelmed more easily. Anxiety shows up in unfamiliar ways. You need more space, but you also miss feeling connected. Your relationships are changing, and sometimes you surprise yourself with your own reactions.

You are questioning things you haven't questioned in years.

What do I actually want? Why am I so angry? Why do I keep doing the same things? Why does everything seem to affect me more than it used to?

And somewhere in all of this, there may be a sense that something important is changing in how you experience yourself.

Perimenopause is a biological transition, but the experience of living through it is so much more than hormonal changes.

It happens in the middle of your actual life. With relationships, responsibilities, histories, disappointments, changing bodies, and needs that may have gone unattended for a long time.

And while every woman's experience is different, there is something meaningful about exploring this stage of life with other women who understand parts of what you are experiencing.

This is more than a conversation about perimenopause & midlife

There is plenty of information about managing the physical symptoms. But what about the anxiety, resentment, changing capacity, relationship patterns, and questions about who you are now?

We will explore these experiences through mental health education, guided exercises, personal reflection, and conversations that go beyond advice. But we won't spend eight weeks analyzing ourselves or trying to turn every difficulty into a problem to solve.

There will be room for curiosity, humor, uncertainty, sadness, anger, recognition, and the occasional relief of hearing another woman say something you thought only you felt.

This group may be for you if...

You feel more anxious, irritable, or overwhelmed than you used to.

Your needs and tolerance for certain situations are changing.

You are questioning familiar relationship patterns or expectations.

You are experiencing changes in identity, priorities, or your sense of self.

You want to understand yourself with more curiosity and less self-criticism.

You miss meaningful conversations with other women.

You ant something more personal and engaging than a traditional menopause education class.

What we’ll explore together

There is no right way to show up…

You won't be expected to arrive with goals for self-improvement or leave every meeting with an action plan. Some weeks you may have a lot to say. Other weeks you may want to listen.

We will use somatic awareness, parts-inspired reflection, creative exercises, and group conversations. There is no expectation that every woman experiences perimenopause the same way.

What Makes This Group Different?

Experiential, not just educational.

We will do more than discuss concepts. You will have opportunities to explore your experiences through guided reflection, nervous system awareness, creative exercises, and group interaction.

Room for different experiences and perspectives.

We won't always relate to or agree with one another. That's part of being in a group. We'll practice listening with curiosity, noticing our assumptions, and making space for different experiences without needing to change or fix each other.

Connection-focused.

The relationships we develop within the group may be even more meaningful than what we learn. Connection looks different for everyone, and it takes time. There is room to participate, listen, observe, and find your own way of being with other women, without pressure to share or connect before you are ready.

Mental health through the lens of perimenopause

We explore how this transition can affect anxiety, emotional well-being, stress tolerance, and your sense of self. Rather than looking at symptoms in isolation, we'll consider how your mental health connects with your relationships, life experiences, and changing needs.

Small and personal

The group is intentionally limited in size so there is room for meaningful participation.

About me

Illinois licensed therapist and mental health coach for women

Michaela Kozlik, LCPC

I'm a licensed clinical professional counselor whose work focuses on women's mental health, anxiety, trauma, relationships, and the emotional changes of midlife.

My approach is grounded in somatic awareness, attachment, parts work, and the understanding that connection plays an important role in how we experience ourselves.

I'm especially interested in what happens when women begin questioning expectations they have lived with for years, recognizing needs they have dismissed, and developing a different relationship with themselves.

I created this group because I believe conversations about perimenopause need to include more than symptoms and treatment options.

We need room to talk about our lives.

Our feelings and relationships. Our changing capacity and grief. Our desires. The parts of ourselves we are rediscovering and the things we don’t want anymore.

And I believe there is something valuable about doing that with other women.
